The rank order of potency for agonists of this receptor is oxymetazoline > clonidine > epinephrine > norepinephrine > phenylephrine > dopamine > p-synephrine > p-tyramine > serotonin : p-octopamine. For antagonists, the rank order is yohimbine > phentolamine : mianserine > chlorpromazine : spiperone : prazosin > propanolol > alprenolol : pindolol. |
