Protein Background | The proto-oncogene c-Ets-1 is a transcription factor known to regulate expression of a number of genes involved in extracellular matrix remodeling, control numerous genes and are involved in stem cell development, cell senescence and death, and tumorigenesis. Ets-1 interacts with the urokinase-type plasminogen activator gene enhancer and with the promoters of stromelysins-1 and collagenase-1 gene which may implicate it in this process. The conserved ETS domain inside these proteins is a winged helix-turn-helix DNA-binding domain that recognizes the core consensus DNA sequence GGAA/T of target genes. |
Expression host | Escherichia Coli. |
Synonyms | Protein C-ets-1, ETS-1, p54, ETS1, EWSR2, FLJ10768. |
