Protein Background | TFAM is a mitochondrial transcription factor which is a main activator of mitochondrial transcription and is also a participant in mitochondrial genome replication. TFAM is situated primarily in the nuclei of elongated spermatids and takes part in the regulation of gene expression of the haploid male genome. TFAM is linked to mitochondrial disorder in humans characterized by ocular myopathy, exercise intolerance and muscle wasting. |
Expression host | Escherichia Coli. |
