Dilution & Recommended Usage | SeaGrow has not been heat-treated, and will gel if heated alone. To prevent gelling, add a minimum of an equal volume of defined media to SeaGrow before heating to 55C for 30 minutes. Depending on your specific application, addition of at least twice the volume of defined media may be necessary to prevent gelling. Alternatively, users may dilute SeaGrow to the final working concentration prior to heating. FOR FISH CELLS AND INSECT CELLS: 1. Try SeaGrow at the 2.5% or 5% level if you have been using 10% or more FBS. 2. Heat-treatment may not be necessary for all cell lines.3. Sterile filtration to 0.2 micron after combination with defined media is recommended prior to use in culture. |
