Data sheet

Formulation MAFK protein solution (0.5mg/ml) contains 20mM Tris-HCl buffer (pH 8.0), 0.4M Urea and 10% glycerol.
Purity Greater than 85.0% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Description MAFK Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 176 amino acids (1-156 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 19.7kDa.MAFK is fused to a 20 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
Protein Background MAFK is a member of the bZIP family and Maf subfamily. Members from Maf family of basic region/leucine zipper (bZIP) transcription factors influence transcription in a positive or negative way, depending on their protein associate and the context of the target promoter. Small Mafs act as transcriptional repressors when they dimerize among themselves. Yet, they seem to function as transcriptional activators by dimerizing with other basic-zipper proteins and employing them to specific DNA-binding sites.
Expression host Escherichia Coli.
Synonyms NFE2U, P18, Erythroid transcription factor NF-E2 p18 subunit, MAFK, Transcription factor MafK.
Reagent Appearance Sterile Filtered clear solution.
Stability Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
