Background:

Fibroblast growth factor receptor substrate 2 in humans is encoded by the FRS2 gene. The docking protein FRS2 is implicated in the transmission of extracellular signals from the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) or nerve growth factor (NGF) receptors to the Ras/mitogen activated protein kinase signaling cascade. FRS2 is overexpressed and amplified in several cancer types, including prostate cancer.
