Osteoglycin(also Mimecan), encoded by the OGN gene is a human protein.This gene encodes a protein which induces ectopic bone formation in conjunction with transforming growth factor beta. This protein is a small proteoglycan which contains tandem leucine-rich repeats (LRR). The gene expresses three transcript variants.The level of expression of this gene has been correlated with enlarged hearts and more specifically left ventricular hypertrophy. |
| Assay principle |
This Mouse Mimecan ELISA Kit was based on standard sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay technology. Mouse Mimecan specific antibodies were precoated onto 96-well plates. The Mouse Mimecan specific detection antibodies were biotinylated. The test samples and biotinylated detection antibodies were added to the wells subsequently and then followed by washing the plate. Streptavidin-HRP was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. HRP substrate TMB was used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow color is proportional to the Mouse Mimecan amount of sample captured in plate. |
