Background
tRNA (guanine-N(7)-)-methyltransferase, also known as Methyltransferase-like protein 1 (METTL1), tRNA (m7G46)-methyltransferase and METTL1,is an enzyme contains a conserved S-adenosylmethionine-binding motif and is inactivated by phosphylation. METTL1 shares a high degree of sequence similarity with yeast ORF YDL201w and has been shown to be inactivated by phosphorylation.
