Description | Recombinant Chlamydia pneumonia antigen, produced in E.coli is derived from VD2-VD3 region of the CP major outer membrane protein (this region is recognized only by Chlamydia pneumonia antibody), it contains 160 amino acids and fused with a His Tag at C-terminus, having a MW of about 21.5kDa, the protein forms a monomer and a dimer on SDS-PAGE gel,the majority of the protein forms a dimer, which migrates at a MW of 42kDa. Chlamydia pneumonia is purified by proprietary chromatographic technique. |
Protein Background | Chlamydia pneumoniae, a human pathogen causing respiratory infections and most likely contributing to the development of atherosclerosis and heart disease, is an obligate intracellular parasite which for replication needs to productively interact with and enter human cells. A specific region of a major outer membrane protein (MOMP), C. pneumonia is only recognized by C. pneumonia positive sera, and is used as an antigen for detection of IgG and IgM to Chlamydia pneumonia. |
Expression host | Escherichia Coli. |
Reagent Appearance | Sterile filtered colorless solution. |
Stability | Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles. |
