Description | Allantoic fluid of 10 days old embryonated eggs, inoculated with parainfluenza-1 virus, strain Sendai. The Parainfluenza-1 Virus was purified by Ultracentrifugation with 20-60 % sucrose gradient. |
Protein Background | Parainfluenza virus, PIV, contains a group of four distinct serotypes of single-stranded RNA viruses belonging to the paramyxovirus family and two subtypes (4a and 4b). Parainfluenza viruse is a negative-sense, single-stranded RNA viruse that possess fusion and hemagglutinin-neuraminidase glycoprotein "spikes" on their surface. The virion varies in size (average diameter between 150 and 300 nm) and shape. |
Reagent Appearance | Sterile Filtered colorless solution. |
Stability | Parainfluenza type-1 although stable 4°C for 4 weeks, should be stored below -18°C. Please prevent freeze-thaw cycles. |
