| Description | SEPW1 Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 110 amino acids (1-87 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 11.8kDa. SEPW1 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques. |
| Protein Background | Selenoprotein W 1, also known as SEPW1 is a selenoprotein, which has a selenocysteine (Sec) residue at its active site. The selenocysteine is encoded through the UGA codon which normally signals translation termination. The 3' UTR of selenoprotein genes share a common stem-loop structure, the sec insertion sequence (SECIS), which is essential for the recognition of UGA as a Sec codon instead of as a stop signal. SEPW1 shows highest expression in skeletal muscle and heart, and also involved in oxidation-reduction reactions. |
| Expression host | Escherichia Coli. |
| Synonyms | Selenoprotein W, 1, SelW, Selenoprotein W. |
| Reagent Appearance | Sterile Filtered clear solution. |
| Stability | Store at 4°C if entire vial will be used within 2-4 weeks. Store, frozen at -20°C for longer periods of time. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA).Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles. |
